DBK Telematics can help your fleet prepare for Comprehensive Safety Analysis 2010 (CSA 2010). CSA 2010 is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities. Driver safety enforcement impacts both drivers and carriers. Research, such as the Large Truck Crash Causation Study, has shown that unsafe driver behavior is a major contributor to commercial motor vehicle (CMV)-related crashes. Other studies indicate that a small segment of the driver population is involved in a disproportionately large number of crashes. As a result, during the Operational Model Test, FMCSA is expanding its approach to identifying and addressing unsafe drivers during interventions with motor carriers.

In addition, EOBR 2012, a new federal regulation that governs how fleets monitor the driving hours of their drivers will take effect on June 4, 2012. Our state-of-the-art AVL technology will help your company comply with all new D.O.T. regulations with regard to I.F.T.A. and D.O.T. Hours of Service. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) amends the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSRs) to incorporate new performance standards for electronic on-board recorders (EOBRs) installed in commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) manufactured on or after June 4, 2012. On-board hours-of-service (HOS) recording devices meeting FMCSA’s current requirements and installed in CMVs manufactured before June 4, 2012 may continue to be used for the remainder of the service life of those CMV’s.
